No matter how any of us feel about a particular issue, published information which passes uncontested as fact really must be corrected.
I'm not talking about opinions in debates, but hard facts that, if they were correct would be easily found in an official record.
RULES PROPOSAL MORATORIUMS:
In AHRMA, there NEVER was and IS NOT NOW any rule stating that after a rule proposal fails 3 out of the last 4 times, it would be suspended from a vote on the 5th year. When I was first running for Western Trustee, I put in my campaign statement that I believed something similar should be in place, but after my first year on the board I realized how crucial the debates are to reassess rules, and to inform new trustees just coming to the board of all sides of the arguments, no matter how many times the subject rule had been discussed. I no longer believe in any such moratorium, but in any case one never existed.
Many years ago, probably in the early to mid 90's Dick Mann proposed a 3 year moratorium on MX classes, and this was passed. It applied to MX classes only and affected no other Ahrma discipline. When the 3 year period was up, he proposed retaining the moratorium, and it was defeated (I know people will find it difficult to believe, but Jeff Smith was one who voted against it). That is the only moratorium to exist in AHRMA history, and had nothing to do with trials. If this were an actual Ahrma rule, it would appear in the rulebook.
THE MODERN TWIN SHOCK VOTE IN 2011:
The article here states the vote was a 5-5 tie. This is incorrect; if you look at the meeting minutes posted on the Ahrma site you will see it was 6 votes to NOT accept the change, and 5 to accept it. Bob Goodpaster was not present and did not assign his proxy to any one, so he had no vote.

It was good to see other vintage bikes still being ridden. Time for me to get in shape before we do it again!

Getting lots of stuff direct from the UK, I hope that things like "mudguards" and "bashplates" will work in place of fenders and skidplates! We will have to get Richard one of those English trials hats!!!!
